Diffused Neutral Light Practice

Studying light & colour this afternoon.

Schoolism’s Colour and Light course has been engaging + helpful so far! I’m really looking forward to diving in and learning more.

Diffused, neutral lighting (e.g. on a cloudy/overcast day) allows forms and local colours to stay true without bias from harsh light and shadow.

One valuable lesson I’ve learned so far is to practise staying consistent with colour relationships. (e.g. ensure the darkest part in the painting stays the darkest, relative to all other colours). I also discovered employing the lasso tool to create crisper edges and to define shapes before thinking about colour and light.
