Stole a few hours to study and paint at Cafe Neve on Rue Rachel today.

Practising value simplification: I have a bad habit of over complicating values, leading to confusing images.

I have to remind myself to keep it simple and structure each image around a maximum of 2-3 base values. I have a long way to go but it’s a good start to be mindful about this!

Based on lessons from Dice Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo’s Schoolism series on Colour & Light.

P.s.no matter how many landscapes and still lifes I practise, I enjoy painting women the most. They’re just so fiercely beautiful!
