For me, the hardest part about illustrating specific expressions was to maintain consistent facial features. I tended towards exaggerating the features (i.e. drawing an exceptionally widened smile for the flirtatious face), which led to sketches that looked like different characters altogether.
I’ll have to work from a baseline “neutral” face to refer to and to apply subtler changes to. In real life, people dont’ tend to contort their face much when they feel an emotion but for clarity’s sake I thought I’d stick to slightly exaggerated expressions.
