MMI is ten times more potent than PTU (note size difference in illustration).
PTU is contraindicated in liver dysfunction
whereas
MMI is contraindicated in patients with thionamide allergy
Refer anyone with Agranulocytosis red flags (fever, mouth ulcers, sore throat)
