For today’s doodle, I worked on inking a 1 page comic I’m working on this week.
I didn’t really get to improve the illustration itself today (besides fixing the whacko cookie jar/recipe box situation). Most of my time was spent trying to make my own font (and then realizing that even converting my writing into a font makes the text look too cold & unnatural). I also spent time re writing the dialogue and cleaning up the talking bubbles.
Better to spend time learning this stuff now rather than later!
More panels coming tomorrow.
I’m not particularly interested in creating short, slap-sticky comic strips. The purpose of this exercise is for me to practise creating panel layouts, gutters, lettering and inking.
For interest’s sake, daily doodle #7 was character design for the little boy in this very comic.
