I was so shocked by the cultural differences that my perception of what &#8220;home&#8221; is began to skew.<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">It&#8217;s like I&#8217;m living a double life. The people I interact with in Brisbane have no idea what Vancouver entails. So I share what I can with Brisbanites, and spend the rest of my energy enjoying and developing my experiences in Brisbane.<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">At the same time, Vancouverites won&#8217;t understand what I&#8217;ve been exposed to in Brisbane, no matter how elaborately I describe it. I suppose I&#8217;ll just have to share what I can, and spend the rest of my time basking in the familiarity of Vancouver.<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">But seriously&#8230;after you&#8217;ve been exposed to something grander than what your scope is used to&#8230;how can you possibly consider one place &#8220;home&#8221; over the other? My world view has just been torn at the seams.<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">I am so deeply in love with Vancouver and its nature and earthy intellect. Is this &#8220;home&#8221;?<\/div>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\">I am so intrigued and appreciative of the uniqueness and quirk of Brisbane.
