My “identity” crisis began because of my transition from Vancouver to Brisbane. I was so shocked by the cultural differences that my perception of what “home” is began to skew.<\/div>\n
It’s like I’m living a double life. The people I interact with in Brisbane have no idea what Vancouver entails. So I share what I can with Brisbanites, and spend the rest of my energy enjoying and developing my experiences in Brisbane.<\/div>\n
At the same time, Vancouverites won’t understand what I’ve been exposed to in Brisbane, no matter how elaborately I describe it. I suppose I’ll just have to share what I can, and spend the rest of my time basking in the familiarity of Vancouver.<\/div>\n
But seriously…after you’ve been exposed to something grander than what your scope is used to…how can you possibly consider one place “home” over the other? My world view has just been torn at the seams.<\/div>\n
I am so deeply in love with Vancouver and its nature and earthy intellect. Is this “home”?<\/div>\n
I am so intrigued and appreciative of the uniqueness and quirk of Brisbane. Is this “home”?<\/div>\n
