{"id":8394,"date":"2013-04-18T01:47:38","date_gmt":"2013-04-18T08:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.najin.ca\/journal\/?p=8394"},"modified":"2013-06-02T23:02:48","modified_gmt":"2013-06-03T06:02:48","slug":"life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.najin.ca\/journal\/life\/","title":{"rendered":"The Canadian Pharmacy Board is holding me hostage."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Anyone who knows me personally knows that I&#8217;m currently struggling through my pharmacy licensing exams (I&#8217;m sitting my second round late next month).<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll be the first to admit that pharmacy (or the entire faculty of science for that matter) was never my strong suit<br \/>\nand it&#8217;s been a personal challenge beyond compare to pursue. It would take another long-winded rant to explain why I&#8217;ve chosen this path in the first place, but I&#8217;ll save that for another time.<br \/>\nAnyway, years of pharmaceutical academia has put my left brain under so much &#8216;unnatural&#8217; strain and on top of current circumstances, I&#8217;m just about ready to collapse and cave in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Although it&#8217;s a tall order, as a pharmacy student I am prepared to educate myself on every nuance, side effect and interaction for every marketed drug out there &#8211; sure.<br \/>\nHowever, it doesn&#8217;t help that the PEBC licensing board writes the most manipulative and convoluted examinations that seem to be utterly impractical for pharmacy practise.<br \/>\nI mean come on. An exam that contains 300 questions, with a third of those questions being twisted, ungraded and &#8220;experimental&#8221;!?<br \/>\nThe examination is designed to use examinees as guinea pigs, not to prepare them for the professional workforce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Anyway, one thing I can be thankful for is the fact that pharmacy is, and never will be my central purpose in life.<br \/>\nWhile I have no qualms with and respect anyone whose life does revolve around the profession, that will never, ever, ever be me. Ever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If things finally start to align with this whole pursuit<br \/>\n(&amp; despite my extensive whining, I am hoping this with every ounce of my being at the moment),<br \/>\nthere are things I am certainly looking forward to.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"line-height: 11.988636016845703px;\">Focus on writing\/structuring the Graphic Novel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center;\">Revamp my wardrobe &amp; start grooming myself with significantly more care than lately (seriously, sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder, &#8220;where did that little boy lose his mommy?&#8221;).<\/li>\n<li>Shoot more photos (travel, fashion)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Trade in my sporty little\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totalmotorcycle.com\/photos\/2007models\/2007models-Honda-CBR125R.htm\">CBR125<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> for a cruisy\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\" href=\"http:\/\/powersports.honda.com\/2012\/rebel.aspx\">Rebel<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> and resume letting the wind blow through my hair.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">So please.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em id=\"__mceDel\" style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; text-align: center;\">LET MY LIFE BEGIN, PHARMACY!!!!!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> !!!!!!!!!!!!<br \/>\n!!!!!!!!<br \/>\n!!!!!<br \/>\n!!!<br \/>\n&gt;:(<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anyone who knows me personally knows that I&#8217;m currently struggling through my pharmacy licensing exams (I&#8217;m sitting my second round late next month).
