This unique looking flower is not famous, show-stopping, and certainly not a popular gift. That’s because it often symbolizes resignation, goodbye, and departure to greater things. It can, however, be a comforting addition to a bouquet for someone who is dealing with loss or grief.
Musing over this simple, twisted bloom has been helpful to process my own struggles with loss. Covid has been a challenging time for so many. I hope others who are facing grief are reminded they are not alone. We’re in this together, whatever “this” means for you…!
Tried to keep the shapes simple and focus on colour/light on this one. Also had fun experimenting with soft and hard edges. Always learning! The reference I used is here.
