I used to be close friends with someone who showed me that manipulating situations can potentially yield a beneficial outcome. He told me that sometimes you have to portray something false to ultimately get what you want.

I was naive at the time and I took his “advice”: I tried it. I succeeded; I got what I was hoping for.
I ended up felt like utter shit.

I don’t think you should ever have to change even a morsel of your character to suit a deceptive situation. You should do the best you can do without sacrificing your integrity; you should never manipulate something because you think your reasoning is beyond everyone else’s.
Attempting to play a role that only God is capable of doing is completely foolish.

I think it robs people of his/her right to fathom the entire situation.
