hey patot:)

nothing wrong with the way you are, like you said, just have to find the compatible person who will compliment your idiosyncrasies and 'get" you.

Jamil,

Elvis, Sinatra, and now Bow Wow Wow (at least it's not lil Bow Wow though--thank God for that).
Thanks for the thoughtful input & encouragement. I guess it's not so much of a 'trade-off' after all. It's my personal approach (to 'sustained', as opposed to quick-fix happiness), and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that.

You're so right about how people tend to look for instant gratification when it comes to love and filling those emotional gaps. I guess what actually matters is the way we approach the 'hole filling'. I prefer to fill those emotional holes after some rational thinking.

Thanks for your input again <3.

I was thinking more along the lines of Elvis, not Bow Wow Wow...but whatever suits you. It's always a hard battle between immediate gratification and long-term sustained happiness. I don't feel that there is a "trade-off" with logical approaches to relationships because, in the end, you're getting what you want and what's good for you. Often, people go for what quickly fixes their emotional holes...but truth be told, we all have those holes and (i believe) it's a natural part of our development...it's just mitigating the overwhelming urges to fill those holes that's the hard part.

That being said, there's a lot to enjoy in life - love being only one of them - you have lots of time to figure it out...so give yourself a bit of a break!
