daily doodle #20

Had fun inking these two panels today. I can sense tears forming in poor dad’s eyes :p

I spent hours tampering with a font creator and FINALLY ended up up with one that mimics my writing relatively naturally. This will literally save me tens of hundreds of hours when it’s time for hard core inking in the future!

PHEW.

For future comics, I’d thin out the speech bubble outlines. They really detract from the images because they’re so bold!
Ah well, you live and learn.

I’m not interested in creating short, slap-sticky comic strips. The purpose of this exercise is for me to practise creating panel layouts, gutters, lettering and inking.

For interest’s sake, daily doodle #7 was character design for the little boy in this very comic.
